An Open Letter To Christine Caine

An Open Letter To Christine Caine

Dear Christine Caine,

We have never met but I wanted to tell you, you changed my life.

Last year you came to my home town in Lynchburg, Virginia and launched your Propel Women campaign.  I am not a student of Liberty University, but I had heard about you and your ministry from a friend and decided to see what it was all about.

From your very first words I was hooked.  Not only were you warm, welcoming and likable but you exuded boldness, direction and strength.  I planned my entire week around attending each and every one of your speaking events and Q&A panels at the university.

I drank in every session and Q&A like water (I was that short, eager girl who stood and shot her hand up first to ask a questions during open discussion) but for me the real climax of the week long campaign was Wednesday night.  A man from your team had been scheduled to preach for Campus Church but a flight delay prevented him from coming, so you took his place.  I am convinced that this was a Divine delay because it was this message that completely changed my life.

This was the very first time I had ever heard a woman preach and you did so with a passion, fervor and humility that was truly stunning.  The Spirit of God was undeniably on you and everyone could feel it.

All of the doubts in my mind that God could use a woman to lead and preach were laid to rest as the Spirit moved through your bold, feminine voice.  I felt like the Holy Spirit whispered to me that night, “this is for you”.

Propel provided for me something I had never seen before, models of unapologetic women leading in the home, business and ministry.  Until that day I had only seen men leading in these spheres and it was extremely difficult for me to imagine a womanly frame carrying out these roles.  The first time I was able to envision myself as a bold leader was during the Propel launch week.

A year later I am fighting against domestic violence by educating church leaders about abuse by using the leadership and teaching giftings I no longer have need to feel ashamed of.  Sometimes you need to see a real life example to believe you can do it too.

So, I just wanted so say, “thank you”.  Thanks for preaching and teaching and leading.  So many of us younger women are watching. We see the ministry God gave you and many of us are realizing, some for the first time, that His promises, power and dreams are for us too.

My Favorites from Christine Caine:

I think this is my absolute favorite interview with Christine.  She said sometime very similar during the launch week. “It is possible to have ministry and marriage”.

This message is one I have gone back to and watched 4 separate times.  Powerful.  "Possessing the Promise

When I heard Christine recite this description of a Propel Woman is at the campaign launch I think the earth started to shake a little.
